Episode 07: Opening the Maeum Docs Demo
A small beginning built on personal, on-device AI: we're reopening the Maeum Docs demo. After more visitors than expected, we've stabilized the on-device engine, and starting today the demo is back online.
A small beginning built on on-device AI
More people than we expected visited the Maeum Docs demo we released a little while ago.
MAEUM aims for On-Device AI, where the LLM runs directly on the device itself rather than in the cloud. So when users flood the demo environment, the engine needs a moment to catch its breath.
Through this round of maintenance,
we refined the on-device engine to be a little more stable,
and starting today, the demo is available again.
There's no longer any reason for AI to run only on servers. AI that works lightly and solidly right beside people, inside their personal devices.
MAEUM wants to build an assistive intelligence that helps people make their decisions and choices. Not a giant platform, but a small AI that reaches one person precisely.
Maeum Docs is the first experiment in that direction.
Maeum Docs currently runs as a Demo Version, and if the engine needs maintenance or stabilization, the operator can stop it immediately.
This is part of the process of validating the on-device architecture, and a choice we've made to build a faster, more robust environment.
The interest and testing of so many people shape MAEUM's next step. We'll keep moving forward quietly, solidly, and steadily.
Thank you. — MAEUM
Maeum Docs is an On-Device LLM document engine for handling professional documents quickly and accurately.
It delivers especially powerful performance in situations like these.
It automatically analyzes the structure of long documents such as legal texts, patents, academic papers, and contracts.
It works not by interpreting the "language" of a document, but by understanding its intent.
It automatically splits, analyzes, and reassembles long texts (tens of thousands of tokens) that ordinary LLMs struggle to handle.
The longer the document, the higher Maeum Docs's accuracy becomes.
The things ordinary translators miss:
Maeum Docs translates these parts based on context.
Rather than translating sentence by sentence, it can translate while preserving the document's entire format and meaning.
Maeum Docs does not store data on a server. All analysis takes place on the device itself, as much as possible.
"An AI that never sends your data outside your device." This is the new standard MAEUM defines.
Because the current demo runs on a limited on-device engine,
load can build up when there are many users.
For this reason, the demo is structured so that the operator can inspect or pause it at any time.
This is an important technical decision made to protect user data and to scale on-device technology reliably.
It's a product that can become an assistive intelligence for everyone who works with documents.
Thank you for being part of the process of building MAEUM's next step.
We'll keep moving forward quietly, but solidly.
