Masters Move Quietly

A genuine desire to help is felt at once. The master moves quietly.

There's a business owners' gathering I attend that I'm deeply grateful for.

People come in all kinds. But when a gathering lasts a long time, there's a reason for it.

A good person notices where the other falls short.

And they say so honestly.

But before speaking honestly, they first understand the person.

And they think about how they'd feel in that person's place.

So they explain it in a way that's easy to grasp.

A master, even when they see someone lacking, doesn't look down on them.

They help quietly. And they keep an eye on that person.

They buy meals, connect people, and make time to meet.

It isn't done with words. They simply act.

That turns into a virtuous cycle.

Help starts flowing back and forth, voluntarily.

Because they actually begin to help, for real.

These people spend their time, spend their money, and give advice without holding back.

In the end, everyone does better, and the pie grows.

Whether it comes from sincerity or from business intent, in the end there's a difference between mere talk and actually moving.

Genuine intent is felt at once.
