While the Delta Is Still Small
The delta of calcification is still small — but it will accelerate honestly with time. So I am planning my “90% retirement” now, while my neuroplasticity has not yet hardened.
Sometimes I feel it.
For now, the rate of change — the stagnation delta (Δ) — is not yet large.
But this delta will accelerate, honestly, as time passes.
By my late forties and fifties, odds are very high that I too will have become a stubborn man who lives with “I’ve done this before, so I know” on his lips.
Defying the physiology of the brain is hard.
As experience accumulates, the brain tries to cling to familiar patterns, and negotiating other people’s opinions becomes physically exhausting.
So I am planning a “90% retirement” for when I reach my late forties to fifties.
Not a complete retirement — a 90% one.
Instead of colliding with the front lines daily and injecting my stubbornness into others, I will keep only the domains where I can still contribute —
only the domains possible at precisely that age.
Admitting in advance that I will become a fossil.
And building, starting now, the very system that will let me step back at exactly that timing without becoming a burden.
Delta (Δ).
That is: I resolve to prepare in advance, while the delta by which neuroplasticity hardens is still small.
